Severe weather has threatened Madison County all day with heavy rain and lightning. These storms are expected to increase in severity this afternoon and more rain is expected. Since midnight, Madison County has received between 1.5″-2.0″ of rain on top of ground already saturated from the recent snow fall. This afternoon and evening, additional rainfall is expected which will cause additional flooding of roads, creeks and rivers. Madison County has sandbags available for our residents at the Madison County Highway Department located on W 8th Street in Anderson, IN.
With these storms this afternoon, there is a likelihood of large hail, damaging wind, heavy rain and the threat of tornado activity.
